Mission

The Street Cats Club is dedicated to improving the lives of stray cats.

Purpose

The purpose of the Street Cats Club is to improve the lives of stray cats:
- controlling and reducing the growth of the community cat population through sterilization via trap/neuter/return
- supporting cat colony caregivers with resources such as cat food and winter shelters

- preventing unwanted kittens by providing no-cost spay/neuter for low-income cat owners

History

The Street Cats Club was created in 2019 by founder Victoria Partridge. It was originally started as a program under the umbrella of the Humane Society of the Flint Hills (HSFH). This allowed the group to partner with the HSFH while it created its board of directors, finances, volunteer base, etc. After one year in the HSFH incubator program, the group moved out on its own and began operating independently. In 2021, the Street Cats Club became an official 501c3 nonprofit charitable organization. And, in 2022, the organization became a licensed shelter in the state of Kansas.
