Free TNR Clinics for Outdoor Cats in Emporia

What are TNR Clinics?

Street Cats Club, in partnership with Prairie Paws Animal Shelter, offers free weekly Trap/Neuter/Return (TNR) clinics for outdoor cats living in Emporia.

These clinics are designed for community members who are able to trap and transport friendly stray cats themselves.

Every cat receives:

  • Spay or neuter surgery

  • Rabies vaccine

  • FVRCP vaccine

  • Ear-tip (universal sign they’ve been fixed)

  • Microchip with free registration

This is the most effective way to reduce the stray cat population and prevent future litters.

Why This Matters

Spaying and neutering outdoor cats:

  • Prevents unwanted litters

  • Reduces fighting, spraying, and nuisance behaviors

  • Improves overall health

  • Keeps cats out of shelters

One clinic can prevent dozens - if not hundreds - of kittens from being born into homelessness.

Important
Guidelines

  • Cats must be outdoor cats

  • Cats must live in Emporia

  • Ear-tipping is required (no exceptions)

  • Cats must be brought in a trap or carrier (if friendly)

  • Do not feed after midnight before surgery

  • Traps should never be left unattended or open overnight
