Street Cats Club secures grant from Athletes for Animals

Administrators of the Street Cats Club are pleased with news of a grant approval by a national organization.

Athletes for Animals, an organization that helps to support companion animals and lists itself as the nation’s non-profit pet-related search engine, has granted funding so Street Cats Club can offset medical costs. Street Cats Club founder Victoria Partridge says medical care for cats isn’t cheap.

The dollar amount hasn’t been announced.

The grant comes as Street Cats Club had a busy 2023, spaying and neutering over 600 cats — over 500 through its trap-neuter-return program — as well as fostering almost 200 cats and adopting out almost 120.

Athletes for Animals lists a number of ambassadors for its mission, including former Major League starts Mark Buehrle and David Freese.
