Where can I view adoptable pets?

You can view all of our adoptable cats online on our website and also on Petfinder. We update their availability in real-time. If you see them, they are still available for adoption.

How long does it take to process an adoption?

Once received, we process most applications within 24 hours.

What is the adoption process for cats?

Once you have found a cat that you are interested in adopting, you will fill out our adoption form. If approved, the cat's foster caretaker will reach out to you to set up a time to meet the cat. If you are outside of our area, a virtual meeting may be scheduled. If your application has been approved and you are ready to adopt, please bring a carrier with you when you meet your cat in person. No cats are allowed to be transported without being in a cat carrier.

The adoption fee is $75 for one cat, and $125 for two. Cats will be spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccines, socialized, and healthy.

Do I need an appointment to see a pet?

Yes. Once you have found a cat that you are interested in adopting, you will fill out our adoption form. If approved, the cat's foster caretaker will reach out to you to set up a time to meet the cat. If you are outside of our area, a virtual meeting may be scheduled.

We also offer in-person Adoption Events on the first Saturday of every month from 11 AM-2 PM at L&L Pets in Emporia, KS.

Do you do out-of-state adoptions?

Yes. The adoption process is the same for all adopters. The only difference with an out-of-state adoption is that a virtual meeting MUST occur prior to the adopters picking up the cat(s).

Can I place a hold on any of your adoptable pets?

A hold can be placed on any cat(s) who are officially adopted (approved application + adoption fee paid). We will hold the cat for up to 10 days after the day of adoption for no additional cost. A hold fee of $5/week starting the day of adoption will occur if the cat(s) will be picked up more than 10 days after the day of adoption. Adopted cats cannot be held for more than six weeks without board approval.

I have another pet at home, can I bring them to meet the cat(s) I’m interested in adopting?

We do not advise cat meet and greets. Instead, our foster caretakers will discuss the best way to introduce your new cat to your current pet(s) in the home.

What are your adoption fees?

Our adoption fees are $75 for one cat, $125 for two.

Do I need to plan for any other expenses for my pet other than my adoption fee?

All of our adopters are expected to bring a cat carrier with them when they pick up their pet. At home, we recommend having a litter box, litter, bowls, cat food, and cat toys. Additional items include cat tree, cat bed, and collar. We encourage adopters to speak with their cat's foster caretaker to find out what food the cat is currently eating. This will allow you to transition your pet over to a new food slowly, avoiding stomach issues.

What happens if I need to return the pet that I adopted?

We understand that not all adoptions are the best fit once they get to their new home. We require all animals adopted from the Street Cats Club to be returned to us if they are no longer going to live in your home. Please contact us at info@streetcatsclub.org to begin that process.
